This week and the coming weeks you may feel exhausted yet stressed about the arrival of your new family member. However, it is better to relax yourself and just prepare everything in advance so that you don’t have to do the hustle and rustle when the time is near. No matter what you do or think, your baby will arrive when the time is suitable for him or her. Your stress or tension would only make the condition worse. Make sure you are mentally prepared and you have done all the other preps beforehand!

What to expect in the 35th week

Now your baby is the size of a Honeydew measuring about 18.1-18.2 from head to toe. The weight of the fetus is about 5.3 pounds. This weight will now only increase by a pound or two now.

How many months are you pregnant at 35 weeks?

You are now right months pregnant and only four to five more weeks at left when you will actually see your now unborn child. Not to mention, the doctors always Keep a check of the weeks of the pregnancy rather than months. So make sure you also know the week of your pregnancy, not the months.

Pregnancy Symptoms at 35 weeks

There are a few 35-week symptoms that everyone has to bear. A few of them are as follows:

  • Frequent Urination

With the pressure on your bladder, the baby is low down towards your pelvis making you have visits to the restrooms after little breaks in between. However, you need to manage the trips as you are advised to be hydrated too. So even if you have frequent visits for peeing it doesn’t matter you need to have a proper intake of water.

  • Constipation

Constipation by now a part of your pregnancy. Make sure you have plenty of fiber in your diet together with the intake of water. You can also ask your doctor to give you medicines for constipation.

  • Pelvic and hip ache

As your body is getting ready for the delivery, you will have more pains and aches in your pelvic and hip area. However, it’s a good sign that your body is preparing itself for the real event.

  • False contractions

Contractions by now will increase however, keeping an eye is necessary to demarcate between the real and the fake contractions.

  • Sleeplessness

With the fatigue, exhaustion, and the pressures you have everywhere in your body, you will obviously have problems while sleeping. The stage you are in, the weight, and other things going around will cause insomnia which will go away won’t the baby is out.

Your belly and baby’s position at 35th weeks

Your uterus by the 35th week is now 1000 times larger than it was when you were newly pregnant. You will now have a gain of around half a pound each week.  The important point to keep in mind during this week is the labor as the baby is ready to head down by now into your pelvis. The songs of labor are important for you to be familiar with so that you are ready to rush to the hospital when they come.

Signs of labor at 35th week of pregnancy

The labor signs below are the alarm for you to call your hospital and rush towards it.

  • Breaking of water

The flow of water you feel which is not like a discharge and comes in a gush is your water breaking.

  • Contractions

The labor contractions are way more painful than the Braxton hicks contractions. Look for the painful ones to call the doctor immediately. The contractions that are five minutes apart and keep on increasing are the real ones.

Even after all these symptoms hitting you or not, anywhere you feel you are not sure what’s happening, make sure to call your doctor right away.

The ultrasound at the 35th week of pregnancy

With the 35th week of pregnancy on the run, your baby is now fully able to hear and even responds to noises that are high-pitched. You may have a Group B strep test this week. The doctor in the test will take vagibal and rectal swabs to look for any kind of bacterial infections.  The bacteria Group B Strep is not harmful to you but during the delivery, the baby may get in contact with the bacteria which is harmful to the baby. The doctor will give you antibiotics if you are positive for the test.

Also, by now you can have a baby, though the early term period is 37 weeks. However, babies born this week can be completely healthy.

35 weeks pregnancy tips

The major things for you to follow this week are:

  • Packing of your hospital bag

Many moms-to-be are usually pass through this step, however, if you are still in the stage of preparing your hospital bag, now is the one to finish everything off. Your hospital bag should have all the things you need to take to the hospital.

  • Get hold of pregnancy pillow

The lifesaver for you to have a comfortable position and sound sleep is the pregnancy pillow. The pillow will aid in painting a good posture releasing the pressure on your hips when you lay down on the bed

  • Lower your water intake before you the to bed

Though by now you are used to going to the restroom now and then, going in the middle of the night is more tiring. To reduce the number of visits to the washroom once you sleep it is better to have less water an hour or two before hitting the bed.

  • Focus more on salads

Fiber plays an important role to deal with constipation. Make sure you have increased salads in your diet so that you have a fiber-rich diet.
