As told earlier, with time nearing your due date you will have issues with comfortability. At 33 weeks, it may sound that comfortable is not a word for you in this condition. With excitement to meet your baby soon overheating is one of the symptoms starting this week to walk in your pregnancy already full of symptoms. You should now have your hospital bag completely organized and all things that you need to purchase for the bag should already be done now as it’s time for you to start packing the bag. Also, after the preparation for the hospital is completed you need to look into the care you would need after you come home. For that, you should have some postpartum necessary medicines stocked up.

Your readiness for any emergency such as an early arrival of your little one matters so be prepared physically and mentally be ready.

What to expect in the 33rd week

Your baby at 33 weeks

Your baby weighs 4.2-4.3poinds with a length of 17.2 inches. It will continue to grow at least an inch more this week. Also, your baby is now the same size as a celery head. This is so exciting!!!

How many months are you pregnant at 33 weeks?

Remember to keep a record of your pregnancy weeks as the doctor will do the same. However, just for your knowledge, 33weeks is equal to a pregnancy of eight months.

Pregnancy Symptoms at 33 weeks

With overheating as a symptom all your other symptoms would look nothing. However, here is a list of things you would feel this week.

  • Overheating

As the metabolic rate hits the sky, your internal heat production enhances causing you to overheat every now and then. All you can do in this regard is cope up with it as you cannot omit this symptom at all.

  • Breathlessness

This symptom is soon going to end as your baby will know Anytime dropdown making space for your lungs to take in air and causing you to relax and breathe normally.

  • Headaches

The changes in the hormones this week will cause you to have headaches. Make sure you are hydrated and not stressed. Drink water and do not worry about your visits to the restroom.

  • Laziness and forgetfulness

The pregnancy brain plays a big role in this. You will have a lazy or clumsy day every now and then with your brain almost forgetting everything!

  • Sleeplessness

With this, the previous and coming weeks, this symptom is going to leave you at all. Yes, sleeplessness is in love with you and you will have to deal with it until the baby arrives.

Your belly and baby’s position at 33rd weeks

The weight gain you have by now is 23-28pounds however with twins the weight gain any range from 32 to 42 pounds.

By now your belly will be more tightened and the false contractions will come and go. All you have to remember is the difference between the real and Braxton Hicks contractions.  With real ones, you will feel contractions around five times in an hour.

Furthermore, you will have period cramps, if that’s the case it is a sign you are going into preterm labor. If you feel pressure on your pelvis with a vaginal bleed g  you need to lie on your left side after emptying your bladder. And then call your doctor right away.

The baby this week is head down or is going to be soon. The baby is now moving towards your pelvis and you may feel as if your belly has really dropped down! If you don’t feel that, it’s ok you will soon have this feeling too.

Is delivering in the 33rd week normal?

If you have any implications such as a high volume of amniotic fluid or if you have twin pregnancy then you may go into preterm labor. However, it is still too early to feel the real contractions if everything is normal.

The ultrasound at the 33rd week of pregnancy

With your 33-week baby inside, you can see its eyes wide open if you have a scan this week. The baby will suck and swallow in order to develop coordinates with breathing. The ones of your baby are now harder than before with some major brain development.

The doctors may perform a biophysical profile, a test done in cases of any complications. The scan will see the amniotic fluid volume, muscle tone, and breathing of the baby. However, the non-stress test part will see the changes in the heart rate of the baby when it’s moving or when you feel contractions.

33 weeks pregnancy tips

With overheating you definitely need some tips to survive the symptoms. Here are a few:

  • Invest to overcome overheating

You can buy a cooling device that can help in the overheating you gave from this week onwards. Also, you can buy small hand fans to get the gush of cold air when you are traveling or you are out of your home.

  • A cold compress can help

With headaches coming and going, you can do some cold compresses on your neck to relieve the pain. Also, this tip will help in overheating too.

  • Create an ambiance that can help you sleep well

Keep the temperature of your room that makes you feel comfortable. Also, make sure to do things that create an environment perfect for you to sleep in. With the baby coming in a few more weeks, you need to have a sound sleep to stay sane.

  • Keep eyes on almost everything that is happening to you

Anything can happen now, so from the type of discharge, to contractions to any other sign of preterm labor, you need to take notes of everything. With your pregnancy grain it may be one harder for you to remember anything, so writing it down somewhere would help a lot.

To-do-list in the 33rd week of pregnancy

  • Enrolling for delivery course and CPR infant course
  • Prepare the hospital bag
  • Stock up things to get ready for the recovery after delivery
  • Call the hospitals and ask whatever is bothering you related to your stay and inquire about the availability of consultations such as breastfeeding.
