Furthermore, you have to get mentally prepared by this week for the labor as the baby is most probably already headed see down by now towards the birth canal. However, panicking would not help at all if you are the type of person who panics in seconds, all you need is to relax and prepare for the big day.

The baby by now is the same as the size of a Jicama. The growth is still going on and your baby weighs 3.8-3.9 pounds in the 32nd week. The length of the baby is 16.7 inches and will still grow towards the end of your due date.

How many months are you pregnant at 32 weeks?

Phewww, 32 weeks means eight months of your pregnancy. Many moms-to-be feel happy knowing they have successfully completed 7 months of their pregnancy. Others may feel overwhelmed, no matter what you feel, you are a superhuman being to bear all the pains and aches to reach here. For your memory checklist, make sure you know the weeks of your pregnancy rather than months when you go to the doctor.

Pregnancy Symptoms at 32 weeks

By the 32nd week of your pregnancy, everything is more intensified. Meaning all the symptoms of the last week are more intense by now including heartburn and false contractions. Mental preparation to bear these symptoms and getting yourself adjusted accordingly is the only and perfect solution. Let’s have a look at the symptoms.

  • Intensified Braxton Hicks Contractions

Though these contractions will intensify but unlike the real contraction, these are painless. You will just feel the tightening of the uterus. On the other hand, the real contractions will be felt frequently and they will be very painful as time passes.

  • Dark areolas

By the 32nd week of your pregnancy, you will see a color change of your nipples also called the areolas. They get darker as said by some people so that the baby can see them easily once they are ready to breastfeed. However, the exact reason is still unknown.

  • More breathlessness

You may feel more congested by now causing you to have more breathlessness. However, your baby is just fine so you don’t need to worry at all. The shortness of breath will go away once your baby is out.

  • More acidity

Heartburn or acidity will also enhance by now. You can talk to your doctor about it as taking antacid to ease your heartburn is safe to take now.

  • More leakage from your boobs

Colostrum, the initial food for your baby is already formed. Your breasts will be bigger than before by now and they may leak too. Using the breast pads is a good idea if that’s the case with you.

  • Increased vaginal discharge

To get ready for the labor, your body will secrete more mucus causing you to have vaginal discharge. This discharge is nothing to worry about as it will protect you from any infection.  However, you need to keep an eye on the type of discharge you have. If it’s watery and the flow is constant there is a chance your water has broken. Also, the thick mucus that is sometimes bloody too is the mucus plug that has broken. So keep an eye on your underpants to see what kind of discharge you are having.

Is delivering in the 32nd week normal?

Though delivering a baby before 37 weeks is said to be a premature delivery, you don’t need to worry because your OB will let you know your condition on every prenatal visit that you have.

Your belly and baby’s position at 32nd weeks

The length of your baby at this point should lie between 30-34 centimeters. Your baby’s weight by now should be 3 and 3/4 pounds. The position of your baby by now is most probably down towards your pelvic area. It also varies from one mom to another. In some cases, the baby goes down right at the time of labor whereas in other cases the baby can still be in a breech position. Whatever the position is don’t worry you can trust your doctor with what you will do in any case.

The ultrasound at the 32nd week of pregnancy

As you are getting closer to your due date, you will have prenatal visits to your OB every week now. If you have any complications or you are having twins then you are definitely going to have a visit to your doctor this week. Your baby is now fully developed and is also practicing breathing.  Your baby will now gain more weight in this and the upcoming weeks so that when it arrives it falls in the normal weight category.

With the vaginal discharge that you have this week, you need to keep yourself clean and hygienically active. Changing the pantyliner or the pads you are wearing to monitor your discharge is a good idea. You can easily look for any signs that may need medical attention.

  • Do walks
