He/she will also develop their hearing abilities this week. You will also be quite delighted to know that by the next week, your baby will be developing their fingerprints. Soon you will start feeling your baby. Are you excited to see your baby’s world? Well, you may soon be able to see it with the second level of ultrasound.

At 17 weeks, you are now four months pregnant. Generally, pregnancy is nine months, however, if we measure by weeks, it is 40 weeks long. To avoid this confusion of days in different months doctor generally track pregnancy by week not the month
Pregnancy Symptoms at 17 weeks
Enhanced Appetite: You will feel hungry quite often; now, this happens as your baby is growing and demanding more nourishment. Don’t be hungry for prolonged hours, and eat your meals regularly. Try and include high fiber protein and lean protein in your diet.
Stretch Marks: Now, this is often hereditary; however, make sure your weight gain is gradual, which would also make such stretch marks gradual instead of extreme ones.
Headaches: You may face occasional headaches during this period; this can happen due to your pregnancy hormones or fatigue. You can take certain pain relief medicine, but do check with your medical practitioner before doing so.
Feeling of Dizziness: Since several things are functioning inside your body, you might feel dehydrated easily, which can induce faintness or dizziness, so make sure that you drink enough water throughout the day to keep yourself hydrated.
Indigestion Problems: During this period, you will feel yourself bloated or feeling heartburns; this happens as you are eating quite often, the body is taking longer time to digest, which is causing such problems.
Backaches: Since your baby bump is growing, it may be quite difficult to adjust your posture now. So, it is quite common that you have recurrent backaches. In order to reduce this, make sure that you have a supportive chair with a cushion at work so as to keep you firm.
These are some common symptoms you would notice, apart from this there are some other changes.
Your belly at 17 weeks
You will develop a not-so-good habit this week, i.e., snoring. Well, it is pretty common as due to the pregnancy hormones, your nasal passage will seem to be blocked, which causes this. In order to reduce this, you can use a humidifier that shall clear your nasal passage. You will also experience normal breast growth. It is because the hormones and milk-producing glands are developing. You can also experience gum problems, and this is due to the effect of different pregnancy hormones.
The ultrasound at the 17th week of Pregnancy
You might have a 17 weeks pregnancy ultrasound if you have opted for a cordocentesis. In this process, the umbilical cord blood is tested for chromosomal abnormalities. The doctor here uses a placenta to find the place where the cord would meet the placenta. Generally, it may be used if amniocentesis results are inconclusive
