Night curfew announced in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai & Kerala on New Year’s Eve

State authorities have issued new guidelines keeping in mind the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

DELHI

Delhi India GateDDMA has imposed a night curfew in the national capital, restricting the gathering of more than five persons at a public place. New Year celebration events or gatherings at public places will not be allowed from 11 pm on December 31st to 6 am on January 1st and 11 pm on January 1 to 6 am on January 2nd. The Delhi Police have also given a warning to the residents against any public events or terrace parties on New Year’s Eve.

MUMBAI

Mumbai, Gateway of IndiaSection 144 has been imposed by the state government thus prohibiting the gathering of five or more people. Night curfew will stay in place from 11 pm December 31st to 6 am January 1st. The state govt has not to permit parties in restaurants, pubs, bars, beaches, rooftops & boats.

BANGALORE

BengaloreMangaluru Police Commissioner has given prohibitory orders from 7 pm on December 31 to 6 am on January 1st. Hotels, malls, restaurants, clubs, pubs, etc are not permitted to organize any special events.

It prohibits the gathering of more than four people in a public or open area. Bangalore police have restricted New Year’s Eve celebrations by any apartment or society. Not only this, the restaurants will allow only advance booking with e-tokens.

CHENNAI

ChennaiConsidering the Covid-19 situation, the resorts along the Old Mahabalipuram Road and Chennai’s East Coast Road are prohibited to organize New Year parties. Guests who are residing in resorts in the mentioned places are permitted to take these routes until 10 pm on December 31st, provided they are carrying a valid ID proof.

The authorities have forbidden any New Year parties in hotels, clubs farmhouses,s or on beaches.

KERALA

KeralaKerala Government has also restricted all public gatherings related to New Year celebrations. It has given instruction to cease all celebrations on New Year’s Eve (December 31) by 10 PM.
