“My sister and I have always had this thought of starting something of our own; we kept bouncing off ideas until we found our real calling with Timios.
Brother-sister duo Aswani Chaitanya and Hima Bindu, founders of Timios – a healthy packaged food company exclusively for kids. We as kids have had access to healthy food options while growing up, and kids these days are easily exposed to junk and have easy access. When we had kids of our own, this soon became a cause for concern.” Aswani Chaitanya – worked as a technologist in top-tier investment banks in the US and UK for more than a decade. He worked as a Sr. VP in Goldman Sachs when he decided to give it all up to start Timios. A proud father of 2 boys, he loves to try a hand in the kitchen and enjoys gardening.
“What better way to teach your kids the value of food by involving them in the process than by just talking about it,” says Aswani, who believes strongly in following this to help instill healthy eating habits early on in children.
Hima Bindu holds a master’s degree in nutrition, has been a part of the research wing in various universities. She has been associated with an obesity clinic as a senior nutritionist and has briefly worked in the FMCG sector. A mother of two loves to add a healthy twist to all the dishes making them tasty and nutritious.
She also says, “establishing healthy eating habits in children is a decade-long process with one day at a time. Try and add a healthy twist to the daily menu, making it exciting for kids.”
Our childhood has been straightforward, with limited and healthy options to choose from. Whereas kids these days are exposed to junk loaded with salt and sugar at a young age and have easy access. This entire idea didn’t come to fruition until we sensed a gap in the market. With research and deep-dive analysis, we found there weren’t healthy options exclusively for kids; this was also a cause for concern among most new-age parents.
We as parents aim to provide the best for our kids from the beginning, and Timios works towards making this process easy that caters to kids of all ages, right from conception up to 12+ years. Our products are packed with age-appropriate nutrition and portion size. Timios has a total of 15 products for moms and moms-to-be, babies, toddlers, and schoolers. There is a myth that healthy foods are not tasty, and we have successfully worked around this to make our products healthy, delicious, and guilt-free.
Timios was born in 2016 with a range of healthy and tasty products for kids across age groups. My corporate experience in building and driving high-performance teams with complex problem-solving skills helped build a team that could accomplish the task at hand and does more. The journey so far has been incredible, with kids in the family playing the role of a critic, which helped us better understand what will work best.
It’s been a wonderful journey so far, bridging the gap in today’s market and making a difference in the healthy food category. But, unfortunately, many companies make snacks with excessive salt, sugar, and spice, which is a big NO for children.
We had little or no access to junk as children. Whereas children these days are exposed to junk early on in life which impacts their health in the long run. This triggered the need to establish a company that makes products exclusively for children. With kids in the family, this objective had a personal connection. The journey became much more enjoyable when my sister Hima, a nutritionist, joined me in the venture.
Making natural and organic products for little ones that are healthy, tasty, and guilt-free was vital. Deciding to create a product and understanding the process of making it is the most exciting part. Being a nutritionist, Bindu helped bring key factors to the table by using healthy ingredients that make the product nutritious, tasty, and pocket-friendly.
Today’s children need complex nutrition to help face challenges in day-to-day life, and we do just that by providing foods that nourish children in the most natural /organic way possible. With the current evolving market and trends, there is much opportunity to make this space healthier and happening.

Mom-trients also help new mothers deal with postpartum recovery, improve lactation and provide the required nutrition for both.
Infant food – made with extensive care for the gentlest beings. Porridge – 100% Organic Porridge for babies, made with finest organic ingredients in a cleanroom environment. Timios Porridge is processed on a “made to order” basis for maximum freshness. It is also incorporated with blockchain technology that enables end-to-end traceability, from grain to packaging. There are a total of 12 variants from 6+ months to 10+ months babies.
