For last year, the fourth-grader from SoCal hadn’t been in the classroom.
Last year, since March, the world came to a screeching halt. All the children of all ages had stopped going to school and education changed from physical presence in the classroom to an online system.
We are still knowing that this year would be filled with many starts and stops and education may be in the same way as of last year.
Now after a lot of heated discourse and politically charged arguments
Schools are reopening, even in Southern California where the school were closed for the last one year since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.
And an emotional reaction by a fourth grader to this news goes viral on social media.
A video clip is shared on the internet by an organization named Reopen CA School, in which a mom named Tarine Zanotto is teaching her daughter Clara with homemade flashcards that tell the story of 2020 (the past year) – and ultimately break the news that after one year of learning from home, the IVth grader will be returning to a Hybrid model which includes physical learning at Redondo Beach School District in Redondo Beach, California.
While listening to this news, Clara bursts into tears. And it’s really tough not to do the same when you see Clara’s emotional reaction.
Tarine greetings Good Morning America that at first, Tarine and her husband Mauricio were helping Clara with recorded lessons but later Clara learned independently with a live teacher on Zoom.
Clara was doing well with it but her mom noted that she loves her school and it hurts. “She was staying positive,” Zanotto told GMA.
“She was worried in the starting like most of us were in the starting. But gradually she learnt techniques to cope with her anxiety… we went through therapy.”
Although this topic is over when to return to physical the school has been contentious, on one would argue that the experience has taken an immense toll on a child’s mental health.
But it’s no wonder that after seeing this clip “how over the moon Clara is to get back to the school is bringing people so much happiness.
Zanotto told GMA that this video clip of her daughter Clara is “spreading love and happiness”. She noticed that “it was joyful to see the school alive last week.
The happiness of the sound of the little backpacks rolling and kids giggling sound is everything.
