Do not worry because we are here to guide you through some of the very essential facts about the virus that one must know.

Can babies be infected by the covid-19 virus?

  • New-born babies may get infected by the virus owing to their mothers who were infected during the time of delivery.
  • Infection can also take place through already infected health professionals who have come in contact with the baby after delivery.
  • Babies below the age of 1 year should be kept in utmost care because their immune system is still very underdeveloped and the virus can have severe impacts on their health.
  • It has been observed that children have also been infected by the virus but they have shown very little or no symptoms at all. This is mainly because their immunity is stronger than most adults who have other health complications.
  • Cough and fever are the two most prominent symptoms of covid-19 and appear equally in children and in adults. Breathing problems are not supposed to arise in children but there may be exceptions.
