How To Get Children To Eat (And Love) More Vegetables?

You want your child to eat healthy food because that is one of the essential parts of staying healthy. With the pandemic over us, it is most important to stay indoors and eat as much healthy food as possible. As an elder, you may eat vegetables and like all the vegetables, but that is not the case with children, especially those aged 3 to 10 years. As a parent, you may be worried about how you can make your child eat more vegetables, not to force them but to make them love it. Unfortunately, children do what they want to do, and if they don’t like the taste, they will give you a hard time eating vegetables.

There are some ways which you can use to get your children to eat and love vegetables –

  1. The first suggestion would be that you need to eat vegetables and enjoy them as a parent. Because children replicate you a lot so if they find you eating more vegetables, it is pretty sure that at least they would give it a try. If you will just keep munching on snacks or do not eat vegetables as a parent, your child will copy that.
  2. Yes, your child may be a picky eater, but do not forget that tons of vegetables are on the market. Try cooking different vegetables, and eventually, at least your child will like one of them. If you just keep forcing the 2 to 3 basic vegetables on them, they will soon get bored of It and not eat it. Try cooking vegetables Differently, so for example, if you live in India, you can make tons of food items just with potato and tomatoes together. You will also get a variety of recipes that include primary green vegetables. Just provide your child with numerous choices.
  3. Presentation is very important when you are trying to get your kid to eat something. For example, you can make a beautiful veggie bowl that looks tempting to eat. Or you can use vegetable juice and tempt your child by saying that it is just a basic cold drink. Kids are very moldable, and you can trick them into eating vegetables.
  4. Include vegetables in all your meal. In India, mothers also add Tomatoes and onion in lentil soup, making the soup healthier and tastier. You can also make vegetable parathas, and the main food item that interests all the children is pizza. Pizzas are all about the right sauces and the right vegetables. If you are worried that pizza is not a healthy option, try making it at home from scratch and with your kid’s favorite vegetables.
  5. At a tender age, kids are kind of competitive, so if you set an example in front of them of any other kid eating vegetables or just building up a fictional story, you can easily lure them to eat vegetables.
  6. Lastly, let your children take time to adjust to millions of vegetables and form their own choice. While getting them to eat and love vegetables, do not force them to eat anything if they resist too much. It would help if you had patience in this process.
