5 Toys You Should Not Buy for Your Kids

Children find happiness in their world of toys, and rightly so, they are kids; bright squeaky toys will always attract them. But since they are slowly turning into toddlers, there are certain toys that you as a parent should avoid buying them. This post will be about which types of toys that you should definitely not buy for your kids.

  1. Noisy Toys:

These types of toys are a pain in the ears for you and your child. Toys that make repeated noise, like the most common toys which make such noises are those small toy mobile phones playing the same sounds repeatedly. Most parents think that children will be busy with such sounds. Well, you’re mistaken; at one point in time, it will start irritating you and your child. Ultimately the toy will either be broken or land in the dustbin.

  1. Glittery/Sticky toys:

It can be one of the favorites for your kids. Especially toys that are glittery or slimy. These are made up of relatively cheap components, which will not only make a lot of mess in your house but is also quite hazardous for your kids if they ingest it. Many of you have heard about sticky sand, which is given to kids so that they can mold it and forms new shapes. But instead of that, it just makes a mess everywhere. As kids, they would not understand and unintentionally would be making their room dirty.

  1. Toys with internet connectivity:

Currently, in the market, they are quite some video games that have facilities for internet connectivity. As kids, they are learning stuff, and boom, you bring them a toy with the internet. It’s just not right. The internet contains a diverse number of things, from educational to not-so-appropriate things. So, it’s better that you don’t buy such toys for kids. Even if you do, put a specific safety code or pin so that they can access it with only your supervision. 

  1. Toys portraying violence:

Guns, robots that make sounds like “Fire Fire” or involve shooting or weapons, should definitely avoid it to buy for kids. They are at their growing period, but you should refrain from putting unnecessary aggression into them. The world is not such a rosy place, and violence is something that cant be avoided anyway. So why buy a toy which is portraying so. Instead of this, you can purchase many constructive toys that can be used for learning purposes.

  1. Toys with tiny parts:

Barbie dolls or small toys that have sharp pieces should be avoided. Many toys do have an advisory direction pasted on them regarding which age groups can play with them. But it would be a piece of advice that you should avoid purchasing toys as not only they can be ingested by your child but can hurt them too. Many parents have complained about how their kids had to be operated on after consuming parts of toys. In order to avoid such accidents, definitely avoid such toys.

These are safe and keep your kids busy throughout the day. Through wooden blocks, they can be innovative and engage their creative minds.

  • Animal toys:

These generally come in a pouch containing different type of wild animals and insects. These are really loved by children as not only can they play with them but they can learn about other creatures.

  • LEGOs:

LEGO’s are always fun. We, as kids, have always loved playing with this. And so will your kid, so definitely get them LEGO, which will make them hooked throughout the day for building different things like houses, cars, etc.

  • Puzzles:

You can gift as many puzzles to your kids as you want. They are an excellent recreation source for kids and lets them develop problem-solving, reasoning, and mental ability skills.

  • Toys involving alphabets:

Your kids are probably learning alphabets in their schools. So why not buy them such toys which contain alphabets. They will not only enjoy it but also learn in this process.

These are some options that you can try, be free to experiment more. The list of toys that are mentioned above should be avoided by you as much as possible. But many parents complain that they are not the ones to buy such toys. Relatives, neighbors often bring such toys to gift kids. Well, try to make them understand that why such toys are not suitable for children. Even if you accept it, make sure that you keep it out of your kid’s hands.
